Motor Neurone Disease
Compassionate, specialist support for adults living with motor neurone disease, mobility changes, communication needs and complex care requirements — delivered safely in the comfort of their own home.
What is Motor Neurone Disease?
Motor neurone disorder, commonly known as MND is a progressive neurological disorder that affects the nerves that control movement. Over time, it may result in muscle weakness, decreased mobility, speech impairment as well as swallowing problems, fatigue, and breathing-related issues.
Adults living with MND may need increasing support with personal care, mobility, transfers, meals, medication routines, communication, respiratory care and daily safety at home. Care needs can change over time, so support should be carefully planned and regularly reviewed.
At Great Life Care, we provide calm, respectful and personalised home care for adults living with motor neurone disease. Our focus is to support dignity, comfort, safety and quality of life in familiar surroundings.
