What Is Brain Injury?
A brain injury occurs when damage to the brain affects how they think, moves, communicates, behaves or manages everyday life. It may happen after an accident, fall, stroke, lack of oxygen, infection or other medical event.
The effects of brain injury can vary from person to person. Some people may experience memory problems, fatigue, communication difficulties, reduced mobility, mood changes or changes in behaviour. Some individuals may require assistance with personal care, medications, nutrition, walking, and or complex healthcare needs.
